TWC has completed the transfer of the 2,778-acre Panther Island Mitigation Bank in Naples, FL to the Audubon of Florida’s Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, as the long term managers and is currently restoring an additional 1,841 acres that has been added to the existing bank project. Panther Island’s commitment to the environment has earned national and international recognition. Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, including the Panther Island Mitigation Bank, was named a Ramsar Wetland of International Significance, one of only 26 in the United States. It was the first time ever that a mitigation bank has received this honor. During 2015 TWC added Corkscrew Regional Mitigation Bank to its portfolio thus furthering its commitment to the Southwest Florida market.
