The St. Johns River Water Management District is conducting a 1,308-acre prescribed fire today at the Sunnyhill Restoration Area in Marion County. The restoration area is located east of Lake Weir and the town of Weirsdale. The purpose of the burn is to promote ecological diversity in marsh and wet prairie natural communities. [March 13, 2015]
