The St. Johns River Water Management District is conducting a 64-acre prescribed fire today at the Lake Monroe Conservation Area in Volusia County. The burn will be located on Brickyard Slough Tract, south of Osteen. The purpose of the burn is to maintain flatwoods and improve wildlife habitat. [June 16, 2015]
